There's no place like home for the Proviso East Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Willowbrook by a score of 66-56 on Wednesday. Given Proviso East's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Willowbrook is ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Joaquin Dixon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Ramsey Momon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Proviso East's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Willowbrook, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proviso East will challenge Proviso West at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Willowbrook, they will head out on the road to square off against Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berwyn/Cicero Morton has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
