Volleyball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Hillsboro's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Hillsboro won the last time they faced Poplar Bluff and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mules.

Hillsboro easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19.

Jersey Robinson paced Hillsboro's offense, picking up eight kills. Robinson got some help from Ava Campbell and her 12 assists. Kayla Yaeger and Madison Czapla kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Hillsboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-1-2 record this season. As for Poplar Bluff, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hillsboro and Poplar Bluff will both be playing St. Vincent the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Indians at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, while the Mules will head out to face them at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday.
