After losing to the Chaparral Roadrunners the last time they met, the Conway Springs Cardinals decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Conway Springs walked away with a 50-39 win over Chaparral on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Conway Springs.
It was another big night for Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven steals. She hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Morgan Koester, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Chaparral lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaylee Swartz, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Auburn Hill, who scored 13 points.
Conway Springs has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Chaparral, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-7.
Conway Springs will face off against Belle Plaine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Conway Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Chaparral, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Independent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Independent will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Chaparral surely won't give up without a fight.
