The Bell Creek Academy Panthers will take on the Westminster Academy Lions at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Bell Creek Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against IMG Academy Blue by a score of 82-72. The victory was some much needed relief for Bell Creek Academy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bell Creek Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Sanders, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jermal Jones, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Westminster Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richmond Heights. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Westminster Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Florida, while Richmond Heights is ranked 71st in Ohio).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alex Constanza, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 36.9% of Westminster Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Lloyd, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bell Creek Academy pushed their record up to 10-9 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Westminster Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Bell Creek Academy and Westminster Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Bell Creek Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 64.1 points per game. It's a different story for Westminster Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 69.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
