Softball Recap: Monument Valley Has No Trouble Against Ganado

Monument Valley won the last time they faced Ganado and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 19-5 margin over the Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Adrianna Dominguez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Dominguez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Monument Valley got a massive performance out of Angel Haskan, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those stolen bases were Haskan's first of the season. Nannabah Haskan was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Monument Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Monument Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Ganado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Monument Valley has already played their next contest, a 17-0 win against Many Farms on the 26th. As for Ganado, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-4 victory against Chinle on the 26th.
