They were dealt a 78-49 defeat at the hands of Franklin Road Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Riverside Christian Academy in their matchups with Franklin Road Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Franklin Road Christian was led to victory by Ben Walker and Noah Pence. Walker scored 21 points along with four steals, while Pence scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The contest was Pence's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Alcorn, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Riverside Christian Academy's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Franklin Road Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Riverside Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Zion Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Franklin Road Christian and Christian Community will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
