Kinder is 7-2 against Iota since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Kinder Yellowjackets will head out to challenge the Iota Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kinder comes in on eight and Iota on three.
Kinder barely beat Rapides the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Kinder's pitcher stepped up to hand Rapides a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Samantha Hayes's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Caegen Manuel was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Brianna Fontenot was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, everything went Iota's way against St. Edmund on Friday as Iota made off with a 9-0 victory. The Bulldogs are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth matchup they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Haydyn Schexnayder was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Charli Sonnier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Douget, who scored two runs and stole Three bases.
Iota's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kinder, their record is now 9-1.
Kinder skirted past Iota 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kinder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
