Pineville is 0-8 against Whitley County since March of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Mountain Lions will square off against the Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Pineville put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Thomas Walker with a sharp 29-5 victory. The Mountain Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Whitley County came out on top against Lynn Camp on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Colonels never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Colonels' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The result came thanks to Caylee Singleton's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Whitley County got a massive performance out of Madi Rains, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadynn Johnson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Pineville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. Pineville couldn't quite finish off Whitley County when the teams last played back in March and fell 11-9. Can the Mountain Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
