Video: Top 10 Games of the WeekParamus Catholic (N.J.) at Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.)
Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: It's still early, but both of these former Xcellent 25 teams desperately need a win to put their once-promising seasons back on track.
Paramus Catholic (1-2) had a bye week to sort out its 41-17 blowout loss against Gilman (Baltimore) on Sept. 19. It was the Paladins' second loss to a Maryland team, sandwiched around a 28-0 shutout of Pope John XXIII on Sept. 12.
Bergen Catholic (2-2) has dropped two games in a row, falling to No. 10 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) on Sept. 19 and losing to Ohio power St. Edward (Lakewood) last week.
Jarrett Guarantano – the top-rated dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2016 – has played valiantly in defeat. The Tennessee commit threw for over 300 yards in both losses and accounted for nine touchdowns.
Names to watch: To slow down Bergen Catholic's formidable offensive attack, Paramus Catholic needs a big push up front from senior defensive tackle
Rashan Gary. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder is the top overall recruit in the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports.
Senior
Gene Coleman II has been Guarantano's go-to receiver all season. The three-star prospect had a season-high 115 receiving yards and a touchdown last week.
