There's no place like home for the Glencoe Yellowjackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took their matchup at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 61-25 victory over West End. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Glencoe considering their 24-point performance the game before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glencoe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Ponder, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Autumn Greene, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Glencoe is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for West End, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glencoe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sardis at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Sardis is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for West End, they will head out on the road to take on Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West End in Alabama (Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is ranked 34th, while West End is ranked 416th).
