The Pasadena Memorial Mavericks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bridgeland Bears at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Pasadena Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Even though Nimitz scored an imposing 55 points, Pasadena Memorial still came out on top. Pasadena Memorial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over Nimitz. Given Pasadena Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Nimitz is ranked 583rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Robert Miller lll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The match was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Brown, who scored 8 points along with 7 assists.
Meanwhile, Bridgeland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 78-60 fall against Paetow. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pasadena Memorial's win lifted them to 8-4 while Nimitz's loss dropped them down to 3-6.
Pasadena Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Bridgeland in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 81-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pasadena Memorial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
