Basketball Game Preview: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Aynor Blue Jackets

Georgetown has gone 9-1 against Aynor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Georgetown Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Aynor Blue Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Georgetown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season.

Georgetown picked up another tournament win on Monday. They breezed by Cheraw to the tune of 80-41. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Braves are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amos Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Jari Ford, who posted 19 points.

Meanwhile, Aynor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 71-52 bruising from Waccamaw.

Georgetown will have to keep a close watch on Robinson Mendez and Lucas Kamp, a pair of players who had a big impact on Aynor's prior game. Mendez went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points and seven boards, while Kamp went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points. Mendez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jamarion Mitchell was another key player, putting up two points and seven assists.

Georgetown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Aynor, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Georgetown beat Aynor 61-51 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Georgetown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Aynor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
