Foster has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fulshear recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Foster is taking a road trip to take on Fulshear at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Foster comes in on five and Fulshear on seven.
Fulshear's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Foster hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Foster's pitcher stepped up to hand Alief Hastings an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Lizzy Yeager looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Foster got a massive performance out of Emerson Lechler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Lechler has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tosch, who fired off three triples, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3.
Foster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fulshear got the win against Alief Elsik on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-0. The Chargers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the sixth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Brinley Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Callahan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Gabriella Castillo (OSU) was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Foster pushed their record up to 13-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Fulshear, their record now sits at 12-5.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Foster has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Fulshear struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Foster's way against Fulshear in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Foster made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foster since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
