The Salem Rocks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howell. While losing is never fun, Salem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Howell is ranked 144th).
Despite the loss, Salem still got an impressive performance from Mitchell Robillard, who scored 15 points. Robillard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Mitch Paspal was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Salem has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Howell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Salem will be playing at home against Novi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Howell, they will head out on the road to square off against Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
