Nashville Christian extended the longest winning streak in A District 10 this week by beating Jo Byrns, 28-27. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Clarksville Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on McEwen. Jacob Rugen threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 103 yards in the win.
The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Anderson helped Clarksville Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 67 yards.
Jaleel Stubbs was the best wideout in the league this week as Clarksville Academy beat the Warriors. Stubbs tallied two receptions for 76 yards.
Tood Hood's team's Rugen and Clay Goad have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading A District 10 in both passing and receiving yards. Rugen has thrown for 1236 yards this season, while Goad has 35 catches for 691 yards. Nashville Christian's Phillip Booker leads the league in rushing yards with 1228.
In 114 carries Rugen has accumulated 953 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Houston County takes on White House-Heritage. The Fighting Irish are currently in third, while the Patriots are in fourth.
The Eagles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,117 from 7,494. The improvement came about via a 28-27 victory over the Red Devils last week.
