The Calvert Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-30 defeat at the hands of Great Mills. Calvert was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Great Mills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DeAndre Dorsey, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Dorsey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Davis, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Calvert dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Great Mills, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Huntingtown the next time they take the court. Calvert will host Huntingtown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Great Mills will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
