The Horizon Science Academy Hawks will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Shekinah Christian Flames at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th.
Horizon Science Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Tuesday. They were beaten by Whitehall-Yearling 53-15.
Horizon Science Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Hawa Ba, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Ba hasn't dropped below two blocks for 11 straight games.
Meanwhile, Shekinah Christian waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 34-27 win over Liberty Christian Academy.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Noe Wanty and Shelby Carr. Wanty had a great game and dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. Meanwhile, Carr was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 22 rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Shekinah Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Horizon Science Academy lost to Shekinah Christian on the road by a decisive 38-20 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Horizon Science Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
