After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reeths-Puffer, Fruitport was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Fremont Packers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 11 runs or more this season.
Brooklyn Russell made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madyson Prout was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brylee Dewitt, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Fruitport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only posted a batting average of .263.
