Atwater waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Buhach Colony Thunder 13-3. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Kylie Medina made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Atwater got a massive performance out of Riley Leonardo, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Leonardo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Hiler, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Atwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buhach Colony only posted an OBP of .357.
Atwater pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Buhach Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
