The Tahoka Bulldogs lost to the Brownfield Cubs back in December of 2016, but the Tahoka Bulldogs didn't allow the Brownfield Cubs the same satisfaction on Friday. Tahoka sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 victory over Brownfield.
Brownfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kk Fininen, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Fininen scored a full 27% of Brownfield's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Guzman, who scored 11 points.
Tahoka's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Brownfield, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tahoka has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cotton Center at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Cotton Center is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Brownfield, they will be playing at home against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
