On Friday, The Regent Prep faced the Yale Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Regent Prep simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Yale 76-30 on the road. The result was nothing new for Regent Prep, who have now won five games by 24 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Yale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cornelius Prather. Despite the final result, he threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Teagan Minney also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Regent Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Yale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Regent Prep will look to defend their home field on Friday against Olive at 7:00 p.m. Olive is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Yale, they will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
