Softball Recap: Malden Extends Winning Streak to Three

Malden entered their tilt with Campbell on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Camels 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Carsyn Cohen was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Fowler, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Malden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher in six consecutive games.

Malden's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Campbell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Coming up, Malden will challenge Holcomb at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Campbell, they will square off against Senath-Hornersville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.82 runs per game on average), something the Camels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
