Kiera Strakowksi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Geyer, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Addi Luther also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Meanwhile, South Bend Adams never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Mishawaka Marian with a sharp 14-0 victory. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.
Abby Kadar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, South Bend Adams got a massive performance out of Avery Kidwell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Julia McNellis was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

South Bend Adams' record now sits at 3-1. As for New Prairie, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Prairie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like South Bend Adams struggles in that department as they've averaged .413. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Prairie took their victory against South Bend Adams when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
