Even though the Udall Eagles have not done well against the West Elk Patriots recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Udall came out on top against West Elk by a score of 45-33. For Udall, this counts as revenge for the 63-34 defeat West Elk walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Udall was led to victory by Emma Alberts and Lilly Hoffman. Alberts scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks, while Hoffman went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hoffman has scored at least a third of Udall's points. Kayl Knapp was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Udall's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for West Elk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Udall will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Central is coming into the contest with seven straight defeats at home, meaning Udall will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for West Elk, they will head out on the road to take on Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Elk is facing Caldwell at the right time seeing as Caldwell is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
