Volleyball Recap: Classical Has No Trouble Against Portsmouth

After losing to Portsmouth the last time they met, Classical decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Purple blew past the Patriots 3-0 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Purple have beaten the Patriots on their court since September 6, 2019.

Classical walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 25-15.

Angelina Pham went supernova, getting 14 digs and five aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last five matchups.

Pham wasn't the only good servers: Classical was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

Classical's win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Portsmouth, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Classical will take on rival East Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Portsmouth is set to face off against their familiar foe Chariho at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
