The Colorado Academy Mustangs entered their tilt with The Academy Wildcats with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Colorado Academy really took it to The Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-9 victory on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-6.
Naomi Wolff was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Johnson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Colorado Academy racked up 19 assists.
Colorado Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for The Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colorado Academy will take on Manual at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for The Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Eagle Ridge Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Eagle Ridge Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
