Seward is 1-9 against York since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The two teams will face off on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Seward took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 69-25 victory over Fairbury. The win made it back-to-back wins for Seward.
Meanwhile, York came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged Lakeview out 67-65.
Leyton Snodgrass was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Huston, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists.
Seward's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Seward barely slipped by York when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 48-47. Does Seward have another victory up their sleeve, or will York turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
