There's no place like home for the San Juan Broncos, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against North Summit by a score of 77-70 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
San Juan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rj Dalley led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. Dalley hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Weston Jones, who scored nine points along with three steals.
North Summit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trevor Richins, who scored 22 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Buck Sargent, who scored 20 points.
North Summit struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
San Juan pushed their record up to 7-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for North Summit, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.
San Juan won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Duchesne at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. North Summit won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grand County at 2:00 p.m. on January 13th. Grand County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully North Summit likes a good challenge.
