After flying high against the Fayette Falcons last Wednesday, the North Callaway Thunderbirds came back down to earth. North Callaway fell just short of the Indians by a score of 57-54. North Callaway has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Isiah Craighead, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sam Pezold, who scored eight points along with six assists.
North Callaway has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Elsberry, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
North Callaway won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Higbee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,020 points over their last 14 matchups. As for Elsberry, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Bowling Green is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
