Basketball Recap: Mcdonough Sets Scoring Season-High Against Woodland

McDonough scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodland Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 118th).

When it comes to explaining why McDonough lost, don't look at Jadah Rembert. Despite the final result, she posted 28 points. The contest was Rembert's third in a row with at least ten points. Amiyah Dedrick was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Woodland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jada Little out in front who went 8 for 17 on her way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. With that strong performance, Little is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of London Loyal, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

McDonough's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Woodland, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

McDonough wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-50 victory against Hampton on the 10th. As for Woodland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-29 win against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on the 10th.
