Los Banos's Delvonte Moore recorded the longest rushing play in Western this season in his game against Central Valley last week. Moore ran for 98 yards on the play and finished with 102 on the day as his team bested the Hawks.
Central Catholic extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Livingston, 77-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Los Banos' dynamic duo of Chris Corpuz and Daeton West proved tough for Central Valley to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Corpuz threw for 178 yards and one touchdown and West had 123 yards receiving. Markus Rico helped Los Banos' passing attack out by catching one ball for 60 yards.
Paul Parks was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 151 yards on 16 carries as Pacheco topped Jason McCloskey's team. Julian Kelly also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Corpuz and James Sams the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Corpuz leads the league in passing with 1568 yards, while Sams has rushed for 1280 yards this season. Ceres's Caden Johnson leads the league in receiving yards with 700 on 56 catches.
A big matchup in Western this week will be when the Wolves take on Los Banos. At the moment, Livingston is in sixth, while the Tigers are in first.
Patterson moved up to 350 from 412 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to make move up by besting the Panthers 21-14.
