Edison is 2-8 against Franklin since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Edison Vikings will take on the Franklin Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Edison made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lathrop, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Edison never let Lathrop get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Santiago Moreno made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Avila, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izaak Navarrete, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Franklin had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Rio Vista on Friday as Franklin made off with a 15-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their one-run performance the game before.
Larry Cachua was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Franklin is undefeated when Cachua posts three or more hits, but 1-5 otherwise. Miguel Rojas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Edison now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Franklin, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edison couldn't quite get it done against Franklin when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
