Considering Sunnyvale has won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Sunnyvale to victory were Jaden Cross and Nelson Peterson jr. Cross rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while Peterson jr rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Cross' longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Garren James got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Sunnyvale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Wills Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunnyvale will take on Caddo Mills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Caddo Mills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Sunnyvale likes a good challenge. As for Wills Point, they will be playing at home against Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Ford is ranked 591st, while Wills Point is ranked 602nd).
