The Denmark-Olar Vikings can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Ridge Spring-Monetta as Denmark-Olar made off with a 78-58 victory. Given Denmark-Olar's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Ridge Spring-Monetta is ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Denmark-Olar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Hinton, who scored 25 points along with seven assists and six steals. Hinton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tykeen Ross, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Denmark-Olar and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Blackville-Hilda the next time they take the court. Denmark-Olar will host Blackville-Hilda at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Ridge Spring-Monetta will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
