Williams Field is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.5 points per game this season.
Williams Field is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 52-35 victory over Boulder Creek last Friday. The Black Hawks haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Williams Field's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominick Barjona, who threw for 167 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Courshawn Hill was another key back, rushing for 142 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Williams Field was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 378 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Shadow Ridge was a bit more limited in their game last Friday. They took a blow against Brophy College Prep, falling 43-7. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.
Williams Field will have to keep a close watch on Joel Cooper and Michael Cruz, a pair of players who had a big impact on Shadow Ridge's prior game. Cooper rushed for 103 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while Cruz gained 134 total yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Shadow Ridge and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Williams Field, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Williams Field has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Shadow Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 175.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
