Bay is 0-4 against Buckeye since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rockets will take on the Bucks at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Bay barely beat Valley Forge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Patriots on Monday. The Rockets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Lucy Corbett was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Corbett was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bay let Aleiyha Aponte and Julia Mavis run wild. Aponte went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Mavis went 3-for-4 with five runs, three RBI, and two doubles. With that strong performance, Mavis is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Ariah Baum also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Buckeye got the win against North Olmsted on Monday by a conclusive 21-2. Considering the Bucks have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Olivia Piovarchy tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, Buckeye got a massive performance out of Faith Shaw, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Shaw has posted since back in April of 2025. Sarah Michaels was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Buckeye and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Bay, their record is now 2-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bay hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Buckeye struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bay might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Buckeye in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
