The Ogallala Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Holdrege Dusters at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Ogallala really took it to Minden for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-41 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.
Meanwhile, Holdrege made easy work of Broken Bow on Friday and carried off a 61-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holdrege.
Wyatt Pfeifer and Garret Johnson were among the main playmakers for Holdrege as the former scored 15 points and the latter scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Holdrege's points. Another player making a difference was Kegan Steinke, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Ogallala was able to grind out a solid victory over Holdrege when the teams last played back in January, winning 80-69. Does Ogallala have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holdrege turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
