After a string of six wins, the Trinity Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Hug 76-42. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 765th in California, while Hug is ranked 39th in Nevada).
Leading Hug to victory were Amari Davis and David Koul. Davis dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Koul dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Koul has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayshawn Elisher, who scored 13 points.
Trinity Christian's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Hug, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will challenge El Camino at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. Hug will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Wooster at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Wooster is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
