The Garland Owls will be playing at home against the South Garland Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Garland and 22 for the Titans.
Garland pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Sachse on the road by a decisive 74-60 margin. The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayson Ward, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaierick Moore jr, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, South Garland had to suffer through a rough 70-24 loss at the hands of the Rangers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Garland has scored all season.
Like South Garland, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Elijah Darden led the charge by scoring 12 points. That was a full 50% of South Garland's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rueben Davis, who scored seven points.
Garland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for South Garland, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-22.
Everything came up roses for Garland against the Titans when the teams last played on January 2nd as the team secured a 74-40 win. Will Garland repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
