Allen East has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Leipsic Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Allen East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to Crestview. While losing is never fun, Allen East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Crestview is ranked 152nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carson Clum, who scored 14 points along with nine assists and three steals. Clum is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Young, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Leipsic suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-42 walloping at the hands of Patrick Henry. Leipsic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Allen East's record now sits at 6-6. Leipsic's record is now 7-7.
Allen East came out on top in a nail-biter against Leipsic in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 71-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Allen East since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
