There's no place like home for the Raines Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Fleming Island on Thursday. This was payback for Raines, who suffered a 58-57 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Victoria Noble, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of London Jenkins, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
Raines now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Fleming Island, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Raines won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Fleming Island, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Augustine is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
