The Arvada Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Mitchell Marauders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arvada is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Arvada will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Arrupe Jesuit on Wednesday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 25-5 victory. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Arvada got a massive performance out of Isaac Martinez, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in doubles (two). Dillan Najera-Ladezma was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Arvada was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .722. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 15-5 to Peyton.

Mitchell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Spofford, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Spofford also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Damontae Simpson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Arvada, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Arvada's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Bulldogs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mitchell, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Arvada continue to outrun the ball?
