The First Assembly Christian Crusaders had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They walked away with a 45-33 win over Northpoint Christian. For First Assembly Christian, this counts as revenge for the 38-35 loss the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another on January 12th.
First Assembly Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danae Kennedy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Kennedy is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 11 games she's played. Georgia Ahlstrom was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
First Assembly Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Northpoint Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian and the Gryphons will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. George's and the Crusaders are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Northpoint Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Lynx at 6:00 p.m.
