Baseball Game Preview: Big Pasture Rangers vs. Granite

The Big Pasture Rangers will head out on the road to challenge Granite at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Big Pasture barely beat Empire the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Rangers, who have now won five matches in a row.

DALTON TAYLOR was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Big Pasture got a big performance out of HAYDEN TINSLEY, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits TINSLEY has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of LAYNE DAVIDSON, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Granite, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They never let Cyril get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Thursday. Granite hasn't had any issues with Cyril recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Big Pasture's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Granite, their record is now 4-6.

Big Pasture came up short against Granite in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Rangers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
