Even though the College Prep of America Thunder have not done well against the Islamic Foundation Chargers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. College Prep of America walked away with a 28-20 victory over the Chargers. This was a revenge matchup for College Prep of America, as the team was forced to settle for a 31-30 defeat when these two played last Wednesday.
College Prep of America's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zainab Nazeer, who scored eight points along with eight steals and four blocks. Nazeer is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Fatima Iqbal, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
College Prep of America's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Islamic Foundation, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
College Prep of America does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Islamic Foundation will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodlands Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
