Baseball Recap: Sky View's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Sky View can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They never let the Bonneville Lakers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Bobcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

CJ Lofthouse was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Isaac Daniels and Skyler Murdock did most of the damage at the plate: Daniels scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Murdock scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Daniels a new career-high. Rad Sparrow was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Sky View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Sky View's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Bonneville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sky View will venture away from home to square off against Logan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Logan has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.4 runs per game on average), something Sky View will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bonneville, they will head out on the road to challenge West at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
