The Center Vikings had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They greeted the New Year with with a 47-30 win over Rocky Ford. For Center, this counts as revenge for the 32-26 defeat Rocky Ford walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Alicia Rios was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Ximena Miranda, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Center pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rocky Ford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.
Center will head out on the road to face off against Peyton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Peyton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 two weeks ago.
