The Sunnyslope Vikings will head out to square off against the Basha Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Sunnyslope has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sunnyslope is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Corona del Sol on Monday as they made off with a 24-16 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Aztecs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Sam Hyde was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Jayla Strange was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sunnyslope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Basha was able to grind out a solid victory over Horizon on Monday, taking the game 5-1.
Samantha Garrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Makaila Quinney and Bella Cadena did most of the damage at the plate: Quinney went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Cadena went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Quinney's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Jaiman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Sunnyslope's record now sits at 13-5. As for Basha, their record is now 15-5-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Sunnyslope has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Basha struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sunnyslope might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Basha in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
