The Pelion Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Silver Bluff. Pelion has not had much luck with Silver Bluff recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Pelion lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas New. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Kolton Rogers was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Pelion dropped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Silver Bluff, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Fox Creek the next time they take the court. Silver Bluff will host Fox Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Pelion will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
