The Rolla Pirates can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Weskan 46-12 at home. Rolla's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rolla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elena Reza out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Reza has scored at least 25% of Rolla's points. Brynlee Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Rolla's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Weskan, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Rolla will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Balko at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Weskan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moscow at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Moscow presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Weskan in Kansas (Moscow is ranked 108th, while Weskan is ranked 317th).
